Alberto Givanni
Graduated at Academy of Fine Arts
in Bologna, Alberto Givanni has completed his studies in
graphics and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam
Professional photographer with fifteen
years of activity, he has contributed to Italian and international
publications. In 2002, during his collaboration with Nigrizia,
Mundo Negro
and the South African magazine World
Wide
he
curated a wide and in-depth photo-reportage
on the rural
districts of South Africa. Reportage published in the
same year in the book
Africa oltre lo specchio (Minerva
Edizioni) curated
by Elisabetta Pozzetti with text by Alex
Zanotelli
and Franco Patruno.
In the following year, he underwent a journey through
Mozambique and its social topics,
resulting in the
volume Boa Viagem. Reportage
dal Mozambico, edited
by Italo Zannier
and Elisabetta Pozzetti (Minerva Edizioni,
2004). Another reportage was published in 2005: Kenya.
Kibera. Bambini di strada (Casa Editrice XXVII), edited
by Elisabetta Pozzetti and Italo Zannier, with text
by Walter Veltroni and Jean Léonard Touadi.Other
recently published photo reportage topics: Nuba Mountains,
Sudan and Cairo, Egypt.
His social themed reportages has
been published in two books by Fabrizio Floris: Puppets

Nairobi (Kenya).
Besides his reportage activity,
he curates photographic work in progress in artists studios,
published on specialized magazines and monographs. Among

In 2007, his photographic reportage
of Italian Cluniac
Abbeys, tied to the Polirone Abbey in San Benedetto Po,
Mantua, was at the heart
of an exhibition held in the
thousand-year old abbey.
